Steve Harvey’s Rant Against Llight skin Blacks

On Blast!!!

Steve seems to have some issues when it comes to multi generational mixed people who have some black ancestry. He probably has the same problem with biracials who have some black ancestry. What Steve said is consistent with the general views many blacks who are not considered light skin have against light skin blacks (LSB). I feel jealousy and a hatred of not being born with a yellowish, yellowish brown, yellowish red, beige, tan, or white skin complexion also play a role in why many dark skin blacks and certain caramel brown skin blacks dislike light skin blacks who are mixed.

This type of racist diatribe, that comedian Steve Harvey spitted out is one of the reason why — there needs to be a third category — that allows mixed race people to claim mixed race instead of just black or white or something else. Steve Harveys former boss was a light skin person. He has issues with light skin blacks because in Steve words — they are always trying to run something (be the boss, manager, supervisor,). Well it makes one wonder could it be because of the white blood in the light skin persons views and genes that makes them similar to whites. Steve went on this rant at the BET awards show.

What an ass-clown. My first reaction is sort of racist itself and I’ve got no problem airing out the truth of my character at any particular time. I’m like, “stupid ass nigger”. That’s messed up man. How he gonna disrespect someone like that? I dunno, but it seems like black people can make racist jokes about all other races but soon as someone gets back at blacks then it’s a big problem. He needs to chill his ass out an understand that it’s those light-skinned blacks who brought culture to his savage race and they brought respect to it. Yea, joke about someone else’s success in the world assclown. What you want us to be running around like the hood rats your people are (generally speaking of course, there are cool and successful black people in America).

  2. Steve Ug Harvey

His UGLY black ass is so not funny.

  3. seb

He really didnt say mulattoes, he said light skin black people. There are light skin blacks who happened not to be mix.

Although i strongly disagree with his views, but allowing this stupid video (which i dont think is racist by the way) to provoke such racist reaction is equally as bad.

There are ignorant people in the world, and they would go out of their way to make stupid state. But please dont insult or direct your anger/disguise to an entitle race just because some stupid man decided to make a stupid joke about light skin black people.

I hear alot of black people say we are all racist because they have face some injustice in the arm of a white man. This is not true.

Name calling such as savage race, nigger, is wrong, and no matter the circumstance should not be endorsed.

Please think before you react. Dont let ignorant people get the best of you.

  4. Renee

    Hi guys!

Please don’t let my fellow African American “brothers & sisters” such as him get to you or affect your movement. Speaking as an African American I can say that there are those of us who DO hope your movement is a success. YES more times than not, whether it’s something openly displayed or admitted OR something buried deep inside, jealousy is the bottom line of such comments/attitudes.

This I strongly feel based on my own personal experiences. As I’ve stated a couple other times on this site, “ I “ don’t see myself as having features associated with those considered FGM nor MGM. But, because of the “treatment” I receive far too often from my darker hued African American brothers and ESPECIALLY sisters, there must be something there “I” cannot see. More times than not, those falling in that deeper-brown to dark skinned category give me more “problems”. They, mainly women, in the general public give me nasty glares/stares, in the school and work environments treat me as though I’m not “black enough”…like an “outsider”, also from those same two environments I’ve received what I call “bitter sweet” comments in reference to my [“peanut butter”] complexion and etc. —In typing this it just dawned on me… Once your category is restored, this is going to be so bad for people like me on account of people like these…like “Mr. Harvey”. (Please keep us in your prayers.)

Wrapping this all up, my word of advice (hopefully encouragement) is to take the high road on such encounters as you’re walking on your path to reach your [wonderful] destination. If it’s one thing I’ve learned, is that NOTHING ticks off ones like him more than them NOT being able to get you all miserable [angry & upset]. Due to them being, miserable [in jealously] nothing would give them more satisfaction then to know that they’ve “gotten” to you.

Okay, I’m going to get out of here….It’s 8:09pm, I’m still @ work when I got off @ 5pm PLUS I’m hungry!! Hmmm, tacos sound nice then again so does Subways! Keep your eyes on your prize and best wishes !! ^_^

  5. Cee Cee

first of all what the hell is he talking about? He’s not even dark skinned! no where near it. so he’s a bit of an idiot. Those were some real country, ignorant comments.

  6. yo

[[not even dark skinned]] You must be blind

  7. Chance

Steve is a dark caramel brown skin but he feels more black than mixed or anything else. He is totally black identified. He is dark enough to feel that he must be down with the darker people. Steve said he was down with the darker people (blacks). I feel he still has some anger at his light skinnned former boss he had to let him go do to poor ratings in his morning radio show long ago.

  8. Cee Cee

    @ yo

The way he talking you would swear he was as dark as westley snipes or something. He still fits in that “brown paper bag” category. his complexion is kinda in between. he’s not high yellow but he aint dark either for him to be talking like that. Dark is whoopi goldberg, akon, angie stone, westley snipes. and then you have the brown skin people like… kelly rowland, gabrielle union, chris tucker etc.

  9. Denise

First of all Joseph, where the hell do you get off calling the black race savage. If you do your research, you will find out that the white race was a “savage” race before the black race was considered as one. Africans were slave owners before the Europeans were. Once the blacks showed the Europeans the keys to the slave trade, the Europeans screwed them like they screwed the Native American people. European power is the strongest power in the world, but much was blood shed was left behind to get it. I am no racist, I am just stating the facts.

How could you call your family members hoodrats. I do not know if you caught on or not, but you do have black family members, if you are mulatto right.

The definition of a hood rat, is a girl in the hood who is broke, and will lay around with any dude, so that she can be on the come up. That girl can be white, black, Latino or whatever. She is a chick that wears a jacked up cheap weave, with a 1,000 dress that a dope boy purchased for her because of her sexual skills. I am quite sure you had a hoodrat two in your time, lol.

Blacks were kings and queens running civilizations, while in Europe the white race were barbarians and eating in caves eating raw meat, beating each other on the head, they were called the Neanderthals. Read your history books a bit more before you decide to rush to judgment.

You have a parent that is black or is mixed with black. How the heck is a black man saying something about a light skinned black person racist, wouldn’t it be called colorism, instead of racism.

    Now for Chance:
Chance how come you had nothing to say about Joseph negative comments about blacks; I am starting to think that you are all for negative remarks made about blacks. How is someone having white blood make them some authority over somebody. If a white person is a racist, they hate all people who are of Black or Jew origin, they will treat mulattos worst because mulattos represent the very thing that they do not want-race mixing.

A lot of comedians make jokes or say things about people’s complexions, for example, Wesley Snipes, he was the butt of all jokes because he was dark skinned, I guess that is ok though.

Not everyone is jealous of light skin. I know some light skinned mullato looking women who only date darker skinned black men. Most light skinned women prefer a caramel or a dark skinned black man. Not every one think that light skin is the holy grail. It is the mulatto men who prefer there own color, but unfortunately, most light skinned women do not want them, because they consider them as being too feminine looking, not masculine enough, or just plain stuck up; I do not agree with those assessments, I am just speaking the truth.

Let me tell you this story: A white man told me that he was angered at the fact that a black man called white people racists. This guy did not know that I was mixed race. He went on to say that blacks should not have anything to complain about, because people like Martin Luther King Jr. fought a struggle for us. He went on to say, look at Oprah, she’s the richest woman in the world, and she is black. This guy basically said, be thankful you guys got Oprah. I wanted to shove all of my sandwich in his face, but instead I laughed it off and kept going. Slavery and racial oppression is not some cold to get over. You can’t tell a woman who was raped as a child to get over her rape, so you can’t tell blacks to get over racial oppression, which was a rape.

  10. Denise

Steve was just joking, just like that mullato guy in that video was joking. I commented about it and someone told me to lighten up it is just a joke.

He said light skinned blacks, and if you do not consider yourself mixed race, and not light skinned black, then why are you offended. It is the darker skinned black women who basically get treated like second class citizens in the black community-they should be the ones offended. Most blacks put mixed people on a pedestal, that one comment is not going to destroy anyone. Steve once again said light skinned blacks, he felt that he was making comments about his own people. Dark skinned blacks deserve some sort of honor sometimes, dang, not everybody thinks lighter skin is god.

  11. Randi

“not everybody thinks lighter skin is god.”

This is true, but some people find the idea of blacks not worshipping lighter skin as hostile and blasphemous when it’s not. There are plenty of halflings running around in trailer parks and ghettos because their white family members consider them an embarrassment and gullible blacks accept cast offs as they’ve always done.

  12. Cee Cee

Preach denise preach! give some of these folks on here a real history lesson.

  13. vwvwv

Denise, you are a total ass.

steve harvey IS dark (with a disgusting-looking mouth btw); and most dark blacks ARE savages. No way could steve harvey EVAH pass the brown paper bag test. He’s just too dark.

    Joseph is correct about everything.

  14. Monique

Light skin looks so much better than dark skin. Light skin is just prettier — it looks golden, like honey, it’s just absolutely beautiful.

Any look that’s only a few steps away from simian looking is not that attractive.

  15. Joseph

    Denise,

A hood rat may actually include females and it is not exclusively a female adjective as you propound for it to be. Someone summed up the definition nicely with two examples of a male and a female which you can read below.

    1. 1. A person (usually a female) who exhibits a trashy or triflin demeanor. Their appearance and hygiene is usually unkempt and they are very promiscuous and often don’t use protected sex. They can be aggresive and are usually found in the “ghetto” (a car wash or park) or other poor environments (usually on the front porch) being unproductive to society living off Gov. aid. These type people are content with how they live and enjoy getting high and drunk on a regular bases. A female hood rat will be dressed wearing: store brought, colored, contact lenses, house shoes or flip flops; a nappy, blond or red weave; tasteless, faded and cut-up short shorts, a revealing top or jersey dress, and plastered with tattoos of baby daddies. A male hood rat will be dressed wearing: a funk that will knock your socks off; an Xtra long white dirty t-shirt big enough to cover a bed mattress; big heavy duty boots or 100 dollar tennis shoes (he probably spent his entire check to buy) and a plaque infested gold grill. Not all black people act like that, neither do people who live in impoverished environments! Some of them want out!

    1. Did you see Shaniqua at the park yesterday girl? Umm hmm, she looked a hot mess dancing in front of all those guys with that skirt on with no panties in the middle of winter, a hood rat!

    2. Dude, Dexter smelt so bad in the club the other night, high as hell, jumping around with that t-shirt on covered in ketchup stains trying to fight everybody who walked through the door. He a hood rat; you couldn’t pour class on his big lipped ass.

No I’ve never messed around with a hood rat chick cause I cannot stand trash. These people are among the filth of the earth. I’m not calling all of the black race savages, but to me this is what the majority of them are here in the United States. Majority does not mean 90% per se, but greater than 50%.

  16. Joseph

Sorry, the definition should be cited. It’s from http://www.urbandictionary.com

  17. Joseph

    Denise,

Neanderthals were not humans and Europeans were kings and queens as well, running greater empires than your African Nations. It is thought that the Egyptians were blacks, and various mixtures of Asian and European. I’m not sure how true that is but they were also up to incest in their ruling classes and believed in various superstitions. Also you should note that your people stagnated and the europeans kept advancing and still are which is why Africa is a third world country today.

  18. Cee Cee

WHOOPI IS DARK, AKON IS DARK, WESTLEY SNIPES IS DARK STEVE HARVEY IS NOT DARK PEOPLE. GET SOME GLASSES.

  19. Cee Cee

    @ Joseph

Europeans are still advancing off of the backs of others.

  20. Joseph

Steve Harvey does look dark to me. Sometimes that’s the way to go CeeCee with others labouring hard for your cause. People hardly get to where they are by themselves cause there is some support system there to get them through. This may not be a good example, but alot of blacks seem to belong to the sudra or laboring class of the indian system and they have done well in that position throughout the Slave years and the whites and mulattoes found them to be the best at it. They were also adept at warfare in some cases and were used to fight off Indian tribes in Lousiana before the Revolutionary War.

  21. Joseph

I should mention the French are so butt anyways, especially after Napolean that they could have used anyone to help them defend against the Indians in the American south.

  22. Denise

Steve Harvey obviously think that light skinned blacks are black, because if he didn’t he would not have made that remark. I bet if it was a mullato comedian making a joke about a dark skinned black person, most of you would have been in stitches.

Like I said before, it is about time that someone speak up for dark skinned blacks. Steve Harvey is the real authentic light skinned black-not mixed but a light skinned black.

    TO ALL OF MY STANS:
Those of you who called your black parent or grandparent a savage-GET A SHRINK! SO CREEPY.Like I mention before, people like you bring shame to the mullato people.I hope that you are happy that you got me to comment on your foolishness.

  23. yo

this guy is not a fuxking light skinned man.You mothers don`t know what a real light skin man even look like. light skin people come in 3 colors light brown ,highyellow pale white.

  24. Janet

    Denise,

Steve harvey is not light skinned — not by any stretch of the imagination! He is dark.

  25. seb

Joseph, VWVWV, MONIQUI, YO, AND JANET.

I am not those other personalities. You have the right to speculate otherwise, but I have no idea how I can prove you wrong even though you are wrong.

My response: I have been busy and still am busy building the mixed race website so I have not been able to comment as frequently as I would like. I will say this becareful about using the word savage with out giving a reasonable example of behavior regarding a certain type of mentality from a certain segment of society.

Joseph I thank you for clarifying what you meant by savage behavior when you said not all blacks just a a little more than 50%. But your first comment about the savageness of blacks gave no example you just used the word savage. It was inappropriate because you used the word with no major example.

Mulattoes did contribute to black America but black America is not a race of savages. All racial groups even us mulattoes have savage type personalities among us.

Like I say, I have been busy working on the mixed race website. I am working currently on a blog for the mixed race website. This blog will be similar to chancellorfiles where you can come and post comments. I will currently keep the front page of the website but on each essay article at the website there will be a link to the blog where you can comment of the same essay that is currently posted at the frontage of the website.

Joesph thank you for coming by the website and leaving a comment that was cool.
Denise I read your comment over at the mixed race website thank you for coming by and I really appreciate it.

  29. question

    @ seb,

so in your mind there is no way that several people could be on a blog at the same time. is that what you think?

  30. Kim

    Randi,

    wow.

You really know your Mulatto websites don’t you.
    Obsess much?

  31. Cee Cee

Joseph if you and others wanna believe Steve Harvey is DARK then go right ahead. I have met Steve Harvey in person and he is not in the dark brown or dark skinned category. have you ever seen the steve harvey show on tbs? Cedric the entertainer is dark, not Steve. He might wanna believe he is because he has had some issues with some lightskinned folks and he doesn’t want to associate with them, but I’m sorry hun he does not fit the chocolate category.

[b]”Biracial Boy Needs Bone Marrow Transplant”[/b]

    *here’s his photo: http://www.kcra.com/2008/0319/15636336.jpg*

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Dominic Mott’s father is white, his mother is African-American, and those factors are limiting the options for the 7-year-old in need of a bone marrow transplant.

Every year, more than 10,000 Americans are diagnosed with diseases that can only be cured with a bone marrow transplant from someone who is not a member of their family.

The problem for many people in need is that they are biracial and there is a startling lack of diversity on the National Bone Marrow Registry.
Click here to find out more!

Rich and Margie Mott, Dominic’s guardians, are in the center of the fight to save their grandson.

    Dominic is battling leukemia.

So far, nobody on the national registry is a bone marrow match for him.

Liz Ustick, an employee in the marrow donor recruitment program at Bloodsource Sacramento, said only 2.5 percent of the registry is multi-raced and that the majority of potential donors are Caucasian.

Bloodsource goes into the community to talk about the need for more marrow donors, especially among minorities and those of mixed races.

Ustick said she thinks people are willing to help, but if they are not educated about the need for bone marrow, they are not going to join the registry.

Margie, who has donated blood for years for others, said she hopes more people will step up as potential marrow donors to save her grandson or someone else in need.

“The donor might go today on behalf of Dominic might not be Dominic’s match, but they might be someone’s match,” Margie said.

Bone Marrow Donor Registry Drives For Dominic Mott

Drives are open to the public and there is no charge for minorities to register.

Regarding savages, just wait until all the stats are truly separated by each category. A part of me is actually pleased that mulattos despise their black half. Imagine the mental anguish that this causes. 😉 ^-^

Multiracial youth more likely to engage in violence, substance abuse

Overall, multiracial youth also reported a significantly higher mean frequency of engaging in violent behavior compared to each of the three single-race groups. All of these findings were adjusted for age, gender and socioeconomic status.

You are the same person as all of those I mentioned. Notice you have not commented so frequently every since you have been revealed. But you are still lurking over here at this bog. You are obsessed with mixed race and mulatto blogs, and you claimed under the name AP that you were for multiracial people.

  38. So? Steve Harvey is likely right on the BET situation. Traditionally light -skinned blacks have been given preferential treatment over darker-skinned blacks. Divide and conquer that’s called.

  39. Chance

Michael Fisher: So? Steve Harvey is likely right on the BET situation. Traditionally light -skinned blacks have been given preferential treatment over darker-skinned blacks. Divide and conquer that’s called.

My response: But the major problem is simple and that is, that dark skin black have black phenotypes and the average light skin black have a more mixed race phenotype. And, they both are labeled black. That is the problem. The dark skin and certain caramel brown skin blacks are the ones who elect the light skin blacks to positions of power because they out number light skin blacks.

They prefer the light skin blacks themselves when it comes to television, movies, music videos, political positions, etc etc… So they are the ones who the light skin blacks as semi superior.

The best thing to do is give light skin blacks and certain caramel brown skin blacks a separate ethnic title by calling them mixed race or some name to describe them as a mixed group of people.

  40. LaKair

i think yall are just taking what he said out of context. he’s not racist against light skinned blacks . for heavens sake look at his new wife she ain’ all black. it’s just like some say that dark skinned blacks feel lesser than light skinned black why can’t he say light skinned blacks try to act important. it’s is opinion. just b/c he thinks that way doesn’t mean its true. give tha nigga a break yall! hell i’ve seen dark skinned blacks wit no education trying to act important!

  41. Joseph

Yea, people can have racist opinions and be hypocrites too.

  42. WTF?

Joseph you are a self loathing idiot. As a mixed race African, Native American And Irish woman with Hazel eyes, I advise you to educate yourself first, and seek therapy second. Apparently your mother must hate hefself for getting “knocked up” by a “dirty savage”. She obviously wasn’t calling him savage when she drained his testicles. You need to take her and your own confused, damaged, probably soft, gay looking, weak effinate acting self off your pedestal. You remind me why I am repulsed by “light skinned men”.

  43. Joseph

Actually my mom would be that “dirty savage” and my father is that “white devil”!

I am somewhat effeminate-looking [not effeminate acting – not sure what that exactly means], but not “gay-looking” in the sense that you mean it, however, people say a look happy too often [“Why are you always smiling?”].

Going back to my parents, my father drained his testicles in many a woman, but what my mom did hate was that my grandmother did not approve of her son having relations with a black woman.

I’m sorry that your own race repulses you but maybe you will find a nice mulatto man for you sometime.

  44. Chance

Yes nice mulatto men are increasing in numbers. This is a good-thing.

  45. E

Again read the Willie Lynch letters. Slavery has really screwed up Black people in the head. This battle over dark skin and light is not new. We have been taught to hate ourselves. Black is gorgeous in all its many shades. By the way, you have very light skinned kids that have 2 black parents. Hell, I can point out a number of my first cousins.

  46. Joseph

    E,

In the history of Blacks and Mulattoes in America, it was after Reconstruction that the 2 really began to mate with one another. The result was what was called “Brown America”, and brown was celebrated and became the ideal among the new negroes of the period after the 1920’s I believe. These new negroes were kind of in-between, like Mulattoes were with Blacks and Whites. Funny, I think some kids [who were part of this new Brown America] had said to a census taker once that they mistrusted the yellow people [mulattoes] and the whites. I mean a plain example of this celebration was with Joe Louis during his championship reign. His people referred to him proudly as the “Brown Bomber” and he actually was messing around with a Mulatto at the time, the nice looking Lena Horne.

To go off on a tangent here, speaking of Lena Horne she illustrates precisly what bugs me about some people. There are many mulattoes who are not of Latin origin who blacks or whites will call Latin because they are basically confusing Mulattoes in Latin America with Mulattoes in America. When Lena was doing her singing gig she would be passed off as a Latin girl at times.
